Collingwood General and Marine Hospital will experience a temporary power outage on Saturday, October 28 from 0800h – 1700h and again on Sunday, October 29 from 0800h to 1100h in order for an electrical upgrade to occur. Backup power is in place.
“I would like to assure the community that the Emergency Department remains open and operational. We will continue to provide timely access to care and will facilitate seamless care for patients in collaboration with our community partners, as required,” says Norah Holder, CGMH President and CEO.
CGMH is working with all hospitals and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in our North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network (NSM LHIN) and Grey Bruce during the power outage, to ensure any urgent case that requires referral is transported by EMS to a referring hospital.
“CGMH has procedures and contingency plans in place, and the appropriate management and facilities staff will be on-site during the outage to manage any unexpected situations,” says Holder.
