  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and Masters in Nursing or Education from an accredited institution
  • Current BCLS
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience and expertise in a variety of settings that involve patient care across the lifespan continuum
  • Demonstrated experience in a clinical nurse educator role; particularly in critical care, emergency, medical and surgical clinical practice
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, adult learning, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in inter-professional collaboration, education and learning
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to mentor staff and facilitate program and staff development
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in project management
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent assessment skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals, groups and teams
  • Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, team building, conflict resolution, decision making, managing change and group process
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated integrity, initiative and commitment to continuing professional development
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and evidence based nursing practice

DUTIES: The primary responsibilities within this position are to ensure that all levels of clinical staff across all departments in the organization are provided and have access to educational opportunities in order to meet the requirements of their job and to enhance their abilities to deliver client care.This position is primarily focused on education development and delivery and on the professional development and growth of interprofessional clinical staff.It also includes the other role components of document development and research/evaluation.The successful candidate demonstrates facilitative leadership while supporting learning organization-wide as well as department-based initiatives to promote quality patient care. The Clinical Educator assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge and competency in his/her clinical practice and role models continuous life-long learning through professional development. The Clinical Educator will engage in ethical conduct and strive to understand and appreciate the diversity of the patient population and workforce.This position reports to the Vice President Patient Experience & Chief Nurse Executive.
