Parking
Patient, visitor and handicapped parking are available in the main parking lot, located on Moberly Street, just off Hume Street (between Peel and Raglan). Payment is required to leave the parking lot. Emergency patients can enter the parking lot directly off Hume Street (between Moberly and Raglan).

A token is required to exit the parking lot. Please pay for your parking token in the lobby of the Hospital. Token machines are located outside the Emergency Department and adjacent to the Visitor Information Desk. Once you have your token, keep it handy to deposit in the machine at the parking gate. The gate will lift once the token is deposited.

Special arrangements can be made for monthly parking passes with the cashier, if you expect to be visiting a patient over an extended period of time.

All monies earned through parking fees go directly to the operating budget of your Hospital.

Hours
Unless special restrictions are in place, visiting hours for most patients are from 1pm until 8pm.

Just Clean Your Hands
Hand hygiene must be strictly followed for all visitors and staff. Liquid hand sanitizers are located in the lobby and throughout the hospital. Please ensure you clean your hands as soon as you enter the Hospital, before and after eating, before and after visiting a patient and just before you leave the Hospital. Ensuring your hands are properly cleaned is for your safety as well as for our patients and staff.

Infection Prevention & Control and Family Visiting
Please do not come to the hospital as a visitor if you are not feeling well.

Please check with your primary nurse and/or the front visitor desk in the lobby to see if there are any visitor restrictions in place at the G&M. During the winter flu season, it is common to restrict visitors to one visitor per patient and often there are restrictions on children being able to visit patients. We thank you for your understanding as we work to keep our community and patients healthy.

Patients are usually part of a circle of family and friends and the support and comfort they provide is invaluable. For a variety of reasons, we know that families often visit ill relatives outside the published visiting hours. If it is impossible for you to visit during regular hours, please be aware that morning is the time your loved one receives personal care, visits by physicians and other members of their health care team. Always check at the Nursing Station prior to visiting a patient outside of normal visiting hours. You will be asked to leave the room during medical or nursing assessments and care.

Discharge Time
Planning for discharge begins at the time of patient admission. Your health care team, in collaboration with patient and family, will determine when the patient is ready to go home. Normal discharge time is 11AM and patients are encouraged to arrange for a family member or friend to pick them up by the discharge time so that other patients requiring admission can be accommodated.

Wheelchair Assistance
Every effort is made to ensure a wheelchair is available at the main entrance to the Hospital, including the Emergency Department. Should you arrive and none are available, please speak to the Visitor Information Desk, located in the front lobby of the main entrance (off Hume Street).

If you need assistance in transferring in and out of your car or to/from an appointment within the Hospital, please ask a family member or friend to accompany you to the Hospital. Once inside the Hospital, you can request escort assistance at the Visitor Information Desk in the front lobby.

Pastoral Care Services
Pastoral care services are available to patients and families. Spiritual care is an integral part of the care and services provided to our patients and families. A day chaplain is available three days per week.

Local clergy or their approved designate also visit members of their faith group regularly or upon request.

Local clergy also participate in a voluntary on-call roster making pastoral care services available 24 hours per day for all patients and families.

Patients who wish to have a clergy member visit them while in Hospital are requested to inform the Admitting Department of their choice of clergy.
